IoT devices, can refer to any electronic device that communicates with sensors to collect telemetry data. These devices are used for providing basic service on our application & platforms.
FleetMetriks platform, is an online fleet management platform which allows you to track the location of your assets in real time.
Syrus Mobile & ELD applications, are mobile applications compatible with iOS and Android devices. The purpose of the ELD application is for Hours of Service verification, and the Syrus Mobile application allows you to track the location of your IoT devices remotely.
Information provided
Website, the contact form includes fields which you can enter with your personal information to contact our team. This is the only information that can be collected on our site and upon submitting of the form it will send an email to our info@fleetmetriks.com address.
IoT Devices, the primary use case with IoT devices are for the tracking of telemetry information from a vehicle in order to use the data platforms. Devices can be connected to a vehicle’s onboard computer which reads information from the CAN data bus relating to engine data, with parameters such as the vehicle’s speed, rpm, fuel, etc. This information is stored locally on the devices and sent remotely via encrypted transport methods to secure servers.
FleetMetriks platform, secure web platform that gathers IoT device data in order to process and show it in real time. Access to the platform is behind an online account that is created along with the purchase of an IoT device. This access requires a user’s email address which is the only personal identifiable information gathered from the user for the platform.
Syrus Mobile application, a mobile version of the FleetMetriks platform in which users enter their platform credentials and have access to their account / IoT device data.
ELD application, for the ELD application’s functionality we need to collect carrier information in order to create the account.
Use of information
Website, after a user enters their personal information in our contact form we may contact them and engage via email or phone if provided. Their email address may be used for further marketing purposes like sending promotional material. A user can opt out of any email marketing received at any point.
IoT Devices, devices connected to our platform can transmit locational and telemetry data for the purpose of tracking in real time, creating telematics reports, setting up alerts, among other features.
FleetMetriks platform, the data collected by the devices is transmitted to the FleetMetriks platform where it is further analyzed and displayed on a map. The history of information is stored on the server for up to 1 year. Full access to the location information is granted to the owner of the device. Device data may need to be analyzed by platform administrators in the event of a support incident / request related to it.
Syrus Mobile application, user credentials for the application are stored on the phone in order for the application to automatically load on the next open.
ELD application, the use of telemetry and company identification data (carrier number) is used to show the ELD statistics and graphs in order to provide the service.
Information sharing
FleetMetriks may share information, including personal data, with our third party vendors / providers with whom we engage with for hosting, applications, analytics, payment processing, and general applications that enable us to provide service.
Information may be shared across countries due to the fact that our platforms are hosted in the United States and Europe, we also operate with team members at each of our locations specified in the company page.
Data Retention
Websites, contact form data that was submitted is stored on the site indefinitely unless you specifically state that you want your data deleted.
IoT Devices, data for IoT devices is stored locally on the device while it attempts to communicate with the platform. The storage period depends on the device but can vary from 1 day to 30 days depending on the reporting frequency.
FleetMetriks platform, data is stored for up to 1 year. A vehicle can be deleted at any point which will make the data non-accessible by anyone except platform administrators.
Syrus Mobile application, data can be retrieved for up to 1 year. The storage of the credentials on your phone are indefinite while the application is installed on the phone.
ELD application, the data is stored for up to 3-6 months depending on the service level acquired.
